Funds Expanded for Brucellosis Control in Nebraska
Nebraska announces new federal funds to accelerate the brucellosis program. A cooperative plan with federal aid allows testing in 75 percent of cattle owners owning 95 percent of dairy and breeding cattle in counties petitioning for testing. Indemnities up to 25 dollars for grade cattle and 50 dollars for purebred stock may apply, plus state payments of 7.50 and 15 dollars respectively. Polk county Hackberry precinct testing is about half complete.
