District Judges Rule on Farm Bureau Budget Vote
Judges Hastings and Landis ruled the writ to compel a county vote on the Farm Bureau budget was unavailable due to insufficient notice. They struck 317 names from the 1930 petition as instructed in the remonstrance and said an election could be ordered if time allowed for proper notice. Attorneys Csufal and Johnston represented the Relators. Mills, Kirkpatrick, and Dougherty represented the Farm Bureau. County Commissioners did not contest.

District Convention of the Royal Neighbors held in David City
The eighth Nurth District convention met October 27 at LO. O. F. Hall in David City. Registration reached 300 by evening with over 200 early registrants. Officers attended. Local farmer Walter Pierson won first prize by husking 26 bushels in the Polk County contest at Ernest EK Anderson farm near Osceola. Clarence Coffins took second with 24.9 bushels and Engelbert Gabel third with 24.65. Otto Daum nearly tied for third. About 250 people attended as Pierson earns chance to represent Polk at the state husking contest near York on November 3. The Osceola Community Club awarded prizes including leather boots to the champion and jackets with wool shirts for runners-up. The county record surpasses 1927's 19.5 bushels, and ten entrants participated.
