Howard Blake, a longtime Shelby County resident and son of Theodore Blake of Osceola, died by hanging Wednesday evening. Dr. Myers confirmed death, an inquest was deemed unnecessary as the act appeared suicidal. Survived by his wife, his father, and three sisters. funeral arrangements unavailable.

Polk county will receive 3299.58 soon as its share of the inheritance tax fund from the estate of Peter Bergman. The total tax distribution amounts to 3475.47 with about 175 to Lincoln county. Bergman died February 5 1923 leaving a 549863.17 estate. L H Headstrom of Stromsburg was the appraiser. Two thirds of one half of the estate went to heirs in Sweden.
