Memorial Day Observances Planned for City Churches and Auditorium
Preparations are underway for Memorial Day with services at the Methodist Church at 11 AM on Memorial Sunday May 25 uniting all city churches. On May 30 the annual services will begin at 10 AM in the Auditorium followed by a march from the G A R Hall led by the American Legion Auxiliary G A R and W R C. The program includes Rev Collier and the Legion Quartet and addresses by Walter Anderson and others, with Lincoln Gettysburg Address and National Anthem. Stores will close at 10 AM and stay closed all day.

L A Snipes of the Extension Service in Lincoln will visit Polk County next Saturday May 24 to assist farmers enrolled in farm record work. Snipes formerly county extension agent in Case County Nebraska for 12 years and noted for securing completed yearly records. He and County Agent Kelly will meet about 10 farmers to discuss record keeping problems since winter meetings.
