Peter Erick Shostrom obituary marks life in Polk County
Peter Erick Shostrom born March 8 1862 in Gestrickland Sweden died May 10 1988 aged 76 years 2 months and 2 days. He came to America at six settled in Kewanee Illinois then Nebraska and Polk County. He married Sophia Adelson December 20 1886 and had six children. A faithful Methodist and community builder he helped with farms schools and churches. He and Sophia celebrated a Golden Wedding on December 20 1936. He suffered a stroke May 3 and died a week later leaving wife four sons Dana Henry Willie and I two daughters Mable and Amelia Flodman seven grandchildren and many friends.

Steve Siemek had an appendectomy Tuesday morning. Richard Malek underwent an appendectomy Friday evening. Ruth Wyman returned home near Silver Creek after weeks of treatment. A baby boy weighing 7 1 2 pounds was born Thursday May 12 to Mr. and Mrs Earl Richards. Irvin Kepner was discharged after a week as a medical patient. David Ermand, son of Mr. and Mrs Ermand Kath of Gresham, was born Tuesday May 17 at the hospital. Robert Fischer remains a patient showing some improvement.
