By Gien H Krohn moisture for the week ending Saturday shows 12 inches of snow and estimated 1% moisture from rain and snow combined. Surface and subsoil moisture are adequate. Corn 20 percent planted with conditions in corn alfalfa and wild hay good. Pasture and range feed average. Main farm work includes corn planting fertilizing discing and spring preparation. Moisture should create an excellent seed bed though wheat may have been damaged by cold.

Recreation group lets clubhouse bids in Polk County
Polk County Recreation Assn members approved bidding for a 34000 clubhouse and delegated bid letting to the board.
