Local Notes From Powers District And Surroundings

Mr Campbell closed his spring term at Powers District school last week Tuesday. Homer Mustard has mumps and Dave Mace shelled corn last week Wednesday. Harry Davis of near Shelby visited Chas Parkis and family for a few days last week. Pat Sullivan began planting corn last Thursday. John McDonald was seen in the area last Sunday. Mace Gilbert's children have an edge of the chicken pox this past week. M F Bates and Wm Watts took cattle across the river to pasture last Saturday. A good rain fell last Sunday and Monday with about 1 1/4 inches of water. Crops are growing well and rye is beginning to head.
