Fredrickson and Johnsons Quietly Marry in Stromsburg

Miss Sylvia Fredrickson and Earl Johnson were married Sunday afternoon May 1 1938 at 2 30 oclock in the Baptist Parsonage Stromsburg by Rev Gust Carlson. The bride wore navy blue silk chiffon with white lace and a corsage of blue forget me nots and pink roses. Attendants were Miss LaVerne Fredrickson and Joseph Fjell. The bride is daughter of C O Fredrickson of Osceola and the groom son of Albert Johnson of Stromsburg. A lunch followed at the bride’s parents home and the couple left that afternoon for a wedding trip.

Former Osceola Man Sues for Five Thousand Dollars

Victor A. Newcomer formerly of Osceola now in Lincoln filed a district court suit in Lancaster County seeking damages of 5000 dollars. He alleges he fell December 16 last year over wiring attached to 15 inch posts along the Lincoln parkway between the sidewalk and curb. The suit names Helen B. Alexander and Grace B. Truell, owners of 245 South Fifteenth Street, Lincoln.

The Osceola Los Angeles Club met Sunday May 1 in California due to rain. Seventy eight attendees enjoyed dinner, speeches by Dr. Gray and Mrs Campbell reading, plus two solos by Mrs Marian George. The Nebraska State Medical Society with the county society sponsors a May 16 lecture titled Tuberculosis in Childhood at the Osceola Methodist Church. Lutheran Church Mothers Day Program and Service Schedule

Grasshopper Hatch Urged For Polk County Farmers

Polk county farmers are urged to watch for hatching grasshoppers this spring. Entomologist O S Bare of the Nebraska College of Agriculture notes two striped migratory and yellow differential hoppers hatch from late April to early June with eggs appearing along ditch banks field margins and alfalfa stacks. County agents urge reporting to Peterson or precinct committees to coordinate uniform poisoning.

The Osceola Women's Club celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a 1 PM luncheon at the Methodist Church parlor. Charter members Mrs. L. M. Shaw and Mrs. W. F.
