The Board of Education elected a slate of teachers including W E K Thompson as Superintendent and J Carl Bryant in Manual Arts. Valen tine Nebraska’s Lucille Dickinson, Mead Nebraska’s Violetta Carlson, and others were named to English Latin and Mathematics Home Economics Music and grades. Athletic Coach position remains open and Gilbert will not seek reelection. Salaries advanced by five percent for most staff except new teachers.

McCormick Garver Tie the Knot in Family Ceremony
Miss Jessie McCormick and Stanksy Garver wed Sunday morning March 25 1934 at the bride’s home. Rev E B Maxcy of Fairview Methodist officiated with only immediate family present. The bride is daughter of Mr Mrs John McCormick, Osceola High School alumna. groom son of Mr Mrs Wm Garver of Omaha. Garver works for Knight Construction and will be stationed in Hooper Nebraska for a few months. The couple left for Hooper after the ceremony.
Students Help Themselves Through State University
Four Polk County students at the University of Nebraska receive Federal Emergency Student Relief aid. A total of 522 Nebraska students are working as library and clerical assistants, research aides, lifeguards, switchboard operators, and laborers under the program to support university operations and offset funding limits.
