About 600 farmers attended the pasture forage irrigation meeting in Osceola on Wednesday March 2. Ivan Wood from the agricultural college urged farm mapping before irrigation and soil water testing. Dominic Gross emphasized forage needs and sorghum planting to ensure next year. Martin Scholz and Arthur Morrill Jr discussed fall irrigation, subsoil moisture, and mapping pitfalls. Two film reels on soil fertility were shown. Osceola Community Club served coffee and doughnuts during noon hour.

Damage cases settled in district court
Two damage cases in district court were settled Tuesday ending ongoing jury and testimony. Daniel Freeman sued the City of Stromsburg for injuries from contact with a high voltage line and reportedly settled for 3750. A separate auto accident suit involving Mrs. From versus Jack Wills and R. P. Agnew was settled out of court with the amount undisclosed. The two cases end as Judge Lardis plans a March 21 docket for two trials unless settlements occur.

Last Rites for Mrs Mary Behle in Osceola
Mrs Mary Behle a longtime Osceola resident died February 28 at age 81. She born in Switzerland on September 4 1886 came to America with her parents and settled north of Osceola Nebraska. Funeral services were held March 3 at the Osceola Methodist Church with Rev Monkman officiating. Interment followed in Osceola cemetery.

Funeral services held for Marjory Widga in Stromsburg
Marjory Widga 17 of Stromsburg died after illness while in class and died at Lutheran hospital in York. She was a student manager active in school affairs. Survivors include parents Ludwig and unknown mother and four siblings. Services were conducted at home and Methodist Church Sunday afternoon.
