Osceola mourns the death of A A Young aged 74 who died February 26 in Orange California at his son Johns home, a month after the passing of his wife. Born in 1870 in Salem New York, he once ran a Osceola meat market before moving to California about twenty years ago.

Silver Star Awarded Son of Former Osceola Teacher
Lt. Comdr. Roger Smith of the U S Navy Submarine Service receives the Silver Star for gallantry aboard the S S Saury in the East China Sea from May 7 to June 7, 1943.
