Mrs Amanda Ferris Ferris Dies at 76 in Silver Creek
Mrs Amanda Ferris a longtime Nebraska resident died February 25 1930 at age 76 after a five month illness with rheumatism and pneumonia. She was born Amanda Nixon in Shefield Illinois and moved with her husband Sylvanus Ferris to Genoa and later Silver Creek. Surviving are sons Charles and William, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were at the M E Church in Silver Creek with Rev Winker officiating and burial in Silver Creek Cemetery beside her husband.

Stolen 1929 Chevrolet coach belonging to Miller brothers
A 1929 Chevrolet coach owned by Bob and Donald Miller was stolen from in front of the Auditorium about ten o'clock Tuesday evening. A Model A Ford sedan with a Dawson County dealer's license, stolen earlier in Fairmont, replaced it. Sheriff Van Hoosen pursued leads but no trace yet. The sheriff suspects engine trouble caused the thief to abandon the Ford and flee in the Chevrolet. the car was insured.

Famous Homesteads On The Blue River Nebraska
Nebraska features two famed Blue River homesteads the Daniel Freeman site near Beatrice the first US homestead entry and the Morrill home near Tr0mburg filed in 1872 Charles H Morrill bought 160 acres along the Big Blue in Polk County in 1871 and 1872 drove oxen to the site and fenced land. The Morrill Homestead now preserved as Morrill Hall relics and a log mansion contains Morrill's possessions and exhibits.
