Mary Elizabeth Valentine born October 25 1848 in Logan County Ohio died February 20 at age 81 in Osceola Nebraska. She was married to Lawson Shain in 1867 and lived in Illinois Iowa and Nebraska. Survived by one son Lawrence M Shaw seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral conducted by Rev Handel Collier at her son L M Shaw’s home with interment in Osceola cemetery.

Obituary for Ulrich Schutz Passes at 87 in Colorado
Ulrich Schutz born January 12 1843 in Berne Switzerland died February 18 1930 at his daughter Mrs William Ferris Sr home from pneumonia and old age. He emigrated to the United States in 1880, lived near Columbus, married twice in Switzerland, later to Mrs Margaret Huber, with two more children. Survived by daughter Mrs William Ferris, son Walter Schutz of Holyoke Colorado, John Schutz of Julesburg Colorado, stepson Dr SA Huber of Charter Oak Iowa, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral at the Ferris home with burial in Gruetli cemetery near Monroe.

Osceola Bank Depositors Receive First Dividend
Depositors in the defunct Osceola Bank received checks yesterday morning from the Department of Trade and Commerce at Lincoln, totaling 10 percent of their holdings. The $24,400 distributed marks the first dividend since the bank failed two years ago, with about $217,000 still owed to cover the deficit.
