Osceola extended its winning streak by defeating Lincolns Woodman Accident 4 to 2 at the home park last Sunday. The visitors threatened in the seventh and eighth innings with bases loaded but the locals tightened. A Nelson family reunion gathered 86 people at Buckley Park Stromsburg on June 21 with full baskets and a noon dinner. Officers elected for the coming year were Enoch Eckstrand president and Hazel Nelson secretary treasurer. The event noted two marriages four births and no deaths. next year’s reunion will be at Polk Park. Iowa Nebraska Light and Power sued Stromsburg over municipal condemnation of the utility, seeking an injunction to halt takeover actions and challenging the Nebraska law. Judge Donohoe to hear Tuesday morning with York attorneys Flansburg Lee and Engdahl representing the power company.

Mrs Cosner Dies After Lingering Illness In Lincoln
Mrs. Chas. Cosner died Saturday morning at her daughter Mrs. Van Bush’s home after a lingering illness. Her husband had died a few months earlier, and she had lived with her daughter since. The Ladies Missionary Society of the Baptist Church met at church parlors last Thursday afternoon with Mesdames Ed Larson Orlie Miller Wm. Miller Theo Larson Raymond Sundberg and Rolly Williams as hostesses. Mrs. Bailey led the program and Mrs. A. E. Swanson gave the devotional. Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Hill and Mrs. Neva Bright and children from Sterling Colo. spent the weekend with Gerald Brownfield in Lincoln and attended the Wallace Johnson and Francis Scherzer wedding Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Will Wurtz and Mr and Mrs. Oscar Jones also were in Lincoln for the wedding. Elizabeth Allison left for Denver to resume duties at St. Joseph Hospital after three weeks in Polk with her parents. Mrs. Walter Green Mrs. Glen Green Mrs. John Seymour and Miss Beryl Smith were Omaha visitors Monday. Klione, visiting Omaha the past two weeks, returned home with them. Lincoln Telephone Co. managers operators and combination men from Polk Shelby Osceola and Stromsburg enjoyed a picnic Friday at a sand-pit near Hordville. Clyde Burg of York district manager attended as guest. Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
