Ralph Mentink Seriously Injured In Grain Truck Crash
Ralph Mentink son of Mr and Mrs Garret Mentink suffered a serious accident Monday night when a grain truck overturned near Aurora. He was pinned under the vehicle until six Tuesday morning, then taken to Osceola Hospital for a compound fracture of the right leg burns from gasoline and acid and shock. Fire started beneath the truck but he extinguished it and remained conscious. His condition remains a matter of concern due to serious injuries and long exposure.

The bride who graduated Osceola High School in 1933 has taught in a Hamilton county rural school the past year. The groom is the son of August Sandberg near Clarks. They plan to reside on a farm southeast of Clarks.

John Albert Anderson born October 1 1875 died June 11 1986 at age 60 years 18 months and 10 days. He lived in Polk County on his father’s farm then near Swede Home Nebraska near Swede Home Lutheran Church where he was confirmed in 1889. He married Olga Olson March 8 1900 and had five children Edgar Edwin Gladys Brodin and David with one son Harvey died in infancy. Survived by wife Olga five children one sister Mrs August Matson of Aurora Nebraska son in law Claus Brodin four grandchildren an aunt Mrs Clara Anderson Osceola Nebraska relatives and many friends. Little Girl Injured After Auto Strikes Bicycle Rider
Marilyn Scholz ten year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Carl Scholz sustained a broken leg after being struck by a car driven by Mrs Walter Wieseman last Thursday evening. She rode a bicycle near her home and was initially thought not seriously hurt. Attended by Dr R L Schroeder she was later taken to the hospital with lacerations to one elbow and severe bruises.
