Osceola lost 17 to 4 at Utica last Thursday with most runs unearned as Sutton met them on their home field Sunday, where Osceola led early and never trailed. Blessie Henggler and Sterup led Osceola at the plate. Schmoker Mickey and Lamb contributed hits. Attendance was strong as Osceola sits at 3-2 in league play after a 5-4 season opener against York.

Donkey Ball Brings Osceola Crowd to a Tie

Osceola hosts a donkey ball game sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce drawing about 1259 attendees. The C of C team and a farmer team tied 6 to 6 in the fifth inning after baby burros carried runners home. one player, Carl Wieseman, suffered a broken shoulder blade. Proceeds fund a barbecue dinner for Polk County Soil Conservation Day on July 23.

Archbishop of Sweden to visit Omaha for centennial festival

The Most Rev. Erling Eidem Archbishop of Sweden will arrive in Omaha June 18 as part of a King Gustaf V delegation. Prince Bertil heads the 36 year old delegation to preside at the Swedish Pioneer Centennial on June 19 and 20 at Elmwood Park. Governor Val Peterson and W. O. Swanson urge Nebraskans of Swedish descent to attend the festival, with gymnastic and folk dance acts. over 10 000 are expected.

McCormick pitched a no hit no run performance as Osceola beat David City 5-2 to gain a second league win. Osceola led 1-0, David City surged ahead 2-1 on sixth inning errors, then Osceola struck for four runs in the seventh to seal the win. Shelby Woman Fatally Injured In Car Wreck

Miss Anna Mytholar, a Shelby school teacher, died Sunday after a car overturn east of Seward following an off road incident near a bus. Her brother and his two daughters were passengers. Burial services were held at the U B Church in Shelby. The obituary appears next week.

Nebraskas State Council of Home Extension Clubs held a three day session in York June 9 10 and 11 with over 650 women registered.
