Hay fever is mainly a late summer and fall disease though some react in spring or early summer. Pollens from grasses and weeds trigger most cases as they bloom at different times through the warm season. Bright flowers produce heavy, wind carried pollen. small dull blooms attract few insects and pollen spread is less.
Desensitization Offers Relief From Hay Fever
The article explains pollen spread by wind and how desensitization can lessen hay fever symptoms. Treatments must be yearly or ongoing and tailored by skin tests using region specific pollens. Early, repeated therapy reduces future complications like sinus infections bronchitis and asthma.
