Alaska Tugwell homesteading plan faces massive costs

In Matanuska Alaska five million dollars is the estimate for the Tugwell homesteading project moving 200 Minnesota families for a fresh start in life. Taxpayer cost would reach to 25 000 per family. Severe winters and poor land management reduce the projection to only 50 families remaining, driving the average to 100 000 per family.
