District 4 celebrated its 66th anniversary on Friday May 28 at the school house. Patrons and alumni arrived from across the region for a noon picnic on blue grass grounds and a 2:00 program featuring pioneer photographs early school books and relics.

The Stromsburg High School Alumni Association marked a grand Golden Jubilee with a banquet for 400 and a picnic for about 500. Four-H members Merle Johnson Osceola Chester Cremeen Keith McMeekin Myra Frederickson head to Lincoln for Club Week at the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture May 30 to June 4. More than 359 farm youth and leaders will join daily educational and recreational meetings with banquets picnics and dinners. A special train will take the delegation to Omaha Friday to inspect livestock industries.

Three Injured in Crash Near Clarks
Los Angeles residents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zuboff and Clarks resident Laverne Mecham were injured in a truck auto crash near Clarks on Sunday. Mecham, driver of the truck, suffered a skull fracture and is hospitalized at St. Francis with a good chance of recovery. The Zuboffs, treated at St. Francis, were later moved to Lincoln hospital with arm and leg fractures and an ankle injury.

Mrs. Anna Swenson Johnson was born in Sweden in 1859 and died at her Silver Creek home in 1937 aged 77. She immigrated in 1873, married O Charles Johnson in 1882, farmed near Malmno and Osceola, joined St Pauls Lutheran in 1905, moved to Silver Creek in 1928, and was survived by relatives. funeral held May 29 in Silver Creek with burial in Osceola cemetery.
