Memorial Day was observed with services at the M ix church led by Rev Collier, music by the Legion quartet, and a Monday program at the Auditorium attended by veterans groups including GAR WRC Spanish War Veterans American Legion and Camp Fire Girls. Counts Judge Bek spoke on preparedness. a parade and graveside tribute followed. The evening featured a Legion sponsored film The Bat and a four act vaudeville show.

Wesley Chapel Holds Special Memorial Services and Notices

John Koczer bought a Fordson tractor from Carson Auto Co in Osceola last week. John Frerichs and Columbus carpenters remodelled the Frerichs farm barn and are now roofing the porch and kitchen. Mr and Mrs Verne McCormick brought home their baby from Osceola after hospital stay in Lincoln and report the child is improving. First District 6 commencement closes school year
The first District 6 commencement was held Monday evening May 23 at the school. Graduates Bernice Williams Rupert Carlson and Myron Johnson were lauded for their progress as Fern Johnson Maye Peterson sang a duet and John Seymour gave a solo. May 24 featured Pleasant Home events including a May queen, winding of the blue and yellow May pole, a ball game won by the school team and an afternoon of ice cream and cake.

Eighth Grade Graduation Exercises At Auditorium
Eighth grade graduation exercises were held last Thursday afternoon at the Auditorium with about 175 of 192 graduates present. The program featured processional, invocation by Rev. E H Lindquist, organ and violin solos, two quartettes, an address for Osceola 8th Graders Lincoln, a diploma presentation, and benediction by Supt Huston and Rev Hande Collier.

Grant Acker man and Miss M Louise Magaw of Topeka Kansas wed last Monday May 23 at Norton Kansas. The groom son of Dr and Mrs C E Ackerman of Ft Collins Colorado, a former Kansas State Agricultural College student now veterin arian in Osceola. The bride daughter of Mr and Mrs W C Magaw of Osage and a former Kansas State Agricultural College teacher and Phi Kappa Phi member. They will reside in Osceola for the present.

The Community Club opened Howland's Tourist Park with a May 26 to 27 shift due to school picnics. A large crowd gathered for free activities and supper, with hot toffee and bowling, as Mr. Israel and the band provided music.
