Slender thief robs Council Oak store in David City
Early Monday morning a thief slipped through a back window at the Council Oak store in David City and took about 140 dollars. Trucks in the area hauled 6,000 bushels of wheat to Lincoln elevators, filling local storage and outpacing railroad car availability. Extra crews added 16 cars between Clay Center and McCool but Sutton branch stations received none.

Local Ball Fans Take Excursion to St Louis and Chicago
Twelve men from Osceola took a weekend tour by eleven cars to St Louis to see Cards vs Red Sox and Chicago to watch Cubs vs Giants.
