Former Polk Dentist Dies in Lincoln After Long Illness
Dr. Guy Louis Sipencer, 50, prominent Lincoln dentist and instructor at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry, died at his Lincoln home last Thursday after an extended illness. He began his career in Polk in 1916 after graduating from the University of Nebraska and practiced there for three years in offices above the present post office.

Polk Youths Face Serious Charges in Aurora
Three Polk youths Ross Goethe Jr Arthur Grimes and Bill Lavelle all 17 to 21 are jailed in Hamilton county for breaking and entering and wanton destruction at the Rerchange lodge north of Hordville. They allegedly aided by three local girls. the girls face no charges. Sheriff Andrews arrested them and the district judge is to hear sentencing this week.

Obituary of Alvin L Phillips of Shelby area
Alvin Lincoln Phillips, 82, died July 15 after a lingering illness at Stromsburg Hospital. Born April 20, 1861 in Oaktown Indiana, he lived with daughter Mrs M G Hess near Shelby the last twelve years, bedridden the past two. Funeral Saturday at the Hess home led by Rev G T Savery of York and Rev Bryant of Shelby. Burial in Blue Valley Cemetery at Surprise.
