Stromsburg plans a three day Old Time Celebration starting July 5 with a morning Polk band concert and a parade in the afternoon. Polk County Rural Power District opened its Stromsburg office in the Stromsburg Bank basement. Project Manager G E Ekstrand and staff will oversee surveying by Einer Swanson with six miles staked daily. Construction starts around July first, with a goal to energize the county before winter and wire about 1000 homes at uniform rates: 50 KWH minimum 3.50 monthly, next 50 KWH 0.04, next 100 KWH 0.125, excess over 200 KWH 0.02 per KWH.

Car Crashes Near Stromsburg Injure Two
Miss Jona L. Green and Everett Noyd were seriously hurt when their car crashed into a tree on Cemetery Road east of Stromsburg. Green, driving, sustained a broken collar bone and a broken leg, among other injuries, and was taken to Omaha. Noyd suffered broken ribs and other injuries. Pests are driven by horses and reel into a wooden trough where oil and water kill them by immersion. The catch reduces grasshopper numbers and is recommended to other binder users.
