Accidents Mar Fourth Of July Observance In Area
A series of motor accidents around the Fourth of July injures several people and damages multiple cars. An Omaha party near Highway 16 nine miles west of Stromsburg includes a woman with a broken leg. Others suffer bruises and the car is wrecked. A Butler county and Fillmore county collision near the fair grounds causes no injuries but heavy damage. A Silver Creek driver collides head on with a Scotia car sending Dwyer, his brother, and Kenneth Brown to hospital with a broken leg and a cut head. The Scotia occupants escape serious injury. both cars are wrecked.

David City becomes the headquarters for a five and one half million dollar Federal Farm Loan office under a group management agreement between the Butler County and Polk County National Farm Loan Associations. The plan creates a single group office at David City effective July 1, 1937 with W J Stead named Secretary Treasurer.
