Stromsburg Hardware Store Destroyed By Fire
A major fire early Sunday destroyed the Erickson and Anderson Hardware Store in Stromsburg. Loss estimated at $15,000 with partial insurance. Fire chief Harry Lindblade discovered the blaze about 3 a.m. firefighters labored over four hours in 19 degree cold, preventing spread to two adjacent wooden structures. Owners are KR G Erickson and A D Anderson. Stock moved to the First National Bank stock room. A second fire at the C C Goodrich home later that day caused no damage.

Mrs. W E Pratt died Thursday January 23 at her Houston Texas home from heart trouble. Aged 62, born October 12 1872 in Springfield Illinois, she was a lifelong church member and Osceola Nebraska Eastern Star member. Survived by husband Wilbur E Pratt five children and three brothers. funeral held Saturday in Houston with interment there.

Florence Boyd Rewick born December 19 1862 in Maryland died December 27 1935 at her Phoenix home aged 74 years eight days. She spent youth in Illinois attended Lenark College, taught in York Nebraska, trained as a nurse in Lincoln and married E C Rewick in 1908. She leaves her husband and many relatives. cousin of Mrs L Hennings and Chas New comer.

Sidney Rutter recovered from surgery and returned to Osceola. Gail A. Shay became editor of the Doniphan Herald, replacing a former Sun employee.

Death of Hugo Flodman of Wahoo at 78
Hugo Flodman of Wahoo died Saturday morning at age 78 after a lingering illness. He died at the home of his son in law and daughter Rev and Mrs Reubert Hull in Andover Illinois, where he and his wife spent the winter. He is survived by his wife and daughter Mrs Reubert Hull and a host of relatives. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church in Wahoo at 10:00 a.m. and at Swede Home Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at Swede Home Cemetery.
