A Polk Osceola group of A A A allotment committeemen farm leaders and agents from Polk York Hamilton Seward and Butler counties adopted a program of county farm bureau organization and united agricultural councils to support farm legislation marketing and County agricultural agents. Memberships of 3 dollars for 1936 fund corn hog and wheat contract costs and to keep the county office open.

Obituary Eva Tressia Hastings 1917 1935
God in His all wise providence has again called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Hastings of this city and taken from our midst the flower of the home and com munity. Eva Tressia Hastings was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Hastings born May 18, 1917 in Boone County Nebraska and died January 13 in Grand Island General Hospital. Funeral services were held January 15 at the Methodist Church in Osceola with Rev. L. M. Albrecht officiating. Interment followed in Osceola Cemetery beside her brother. She is survived by her parents two sisters Ruth and Irma five brothers Raymond Tommy Seth Jimmie and Jackie and a host of relatives and friends.

Rev and Mrs Paul Melvin report a son born Saturday night January 12 at Osceola Hospital. Mr and Mrs Herbert Anderson of east of Stromsburg welcomed a son born Tuesday at Osceola Hospital. Mrs Anderson was Miss Maye Peterson, daughter of Mr and Mrs Gunnard Peterson.

Thomas D. Hunsaker 77, a Polk County business figure, died of peritonitis after a recent illness. He arrived in Stromsburg in 1900 to partner in Moore and Hunsaker Lumber and Coal, later passing duties to his son R. J. Hunsaker in 1930. Funeral services were held at his Stromsburg home with Rev. Powell and Rev. Hedburg officiating. Survived by his son, R. J. Hunsaker.
