Prominent Polk County Farmer Dies After Illness
Fritz Johnson, a longtime Polk County farmer living on a Stromsburg area farm, died Monday night at age 56 after a hospital operation in York. He leaves a wife four sons Elmer Norris Russell and Lyle two daughters Lucille and Dorothy a sister Mrs Thomas Adams of Lincoln and a brother in Burlington Colorado. Funeral services are planned for Thursday at Eden Baptist Church.

Beginning February 3 the Burlington Railway will start motor train service between Stromsburg and Hastings.
