Swedish immigrant Lindburg dies at 74 in Polk County
Charles H Lindburg born November 23 1858 in Sweden died January 18 1983 in York hospital at age 74. He emigrated to Illinois in 1869, moved to Nebraska in 1878, settled north of Polk in a sod house, married Johana Peterson in 1881 and later Cora Hedburg in 1905. Survived by wife, four children, a stepchild, seven grandchildren, two sons predeceased, and several siblings.

Mr and Mrs Arthur Lindberg arrived from St. Louis to Stromsburg for several days at the C. F. Moore home due to the death of Charles Lindberg of Folk. EKamund Lunner and wife traveled from Council Bluffs to reside here where he works with the Lunner and Johnson Store. The Eden Baptist Church COS were hosted at Maurice Baker's farm. The Commercial Club football banquet at Park Hotel featured a six thirty dinner and program. Rev Fre Hall and family have leased the D J Malster property and plan to move soon. Mrs Sam Clifford of Stromsburg will visit relatives in Rushville, and Maurine Clara Malster depart for Aurora while Louisa heads to California to live with friends.

Funeral services for Mrs Iona Westcoat were conducted Sunday afternoon at Fairview Methodist Church with Rev E B Maxcy in charge. She died Friday January 20 193? at her daughter Mrs Gordon Mace’s home near Clarks Nebraska after a short illness. She was born November 24 1851 in Keosauqua Iowa and married William Alfred Westcoat October 5 1881. They moved to Nebraska in 1886. Survived by son Ned Westcoat and daughter Florence Mace, two grandchildren Marvin and Veda Mace, and four brothers.
