Master Farmer Award Honors Herbert Flodman
Herbert Flodman a Polk County farmer living west of Osceola was named one of Nebraska's ten Master Farmers at the Lincoln banquet Tuesday evening. He and nine other Nebraskans plus one from Colorado received medals for achievement in farm organization, business methods, upkeep, home life, and citizenship. The Flodman farmstead is noted for neatness and productivity, crediting soil fertility through livestock and hogs, with a well bred poultry flock boosting family income.

Mrs William Inness died at her home 2 1 2 miles southeast of Shelby on Friday evening December 30 after a brief illness of pneumonia. Born Mary McMeekin April 23 1888 she married William Innes April 5 1911 and is survived by her husband three daughters Helen Tina and Bess her mother Elizabeth McMeekin five sisters and six brothers. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm at the Methodist Church Shelby with interment at Shelby Graceland cemetery.
