Former Record Editor Calmar McCune Dies at 84
Calmar McCune eighty four a retired newspaper editor and former Stromsburg mayor died at his daughter Mrs Julia Harrison s Lincoln home. He edited the Stromsburg Republican for about thirty years and later entered the grain business. He also led the Osceola Record and the David City Republican before Stromsburg. Born in Pittsburgh he graduated from Cornell College and homesteaded in Polk County Nebraska in 1872. A Civil War veteran he belonged to the Masonic lodge in Stromsburg. He is survived by two daughters Mrs Eva Reedy and Mrs Harrison and a son Calmar of Haxtun Colorado. Funeral services were held in Lincoln and burial followed in Stromsburg.

An estimated four million visitors toured Chevrolet dealer showrooms on the first day of the 1933 model display. H. J. Obituary: Oscar Branting Dies at Mayo Hospital Rochester
Oscar Branting died at Mayo Hospital in Rochester Minnesota on Saturday at age 59 after long illness. He was brother of O Branting of this city and co ran a General Merchandise Store at Swede Home and later in Herdville. He lived in Riverton Wyoming for eight years. Funeral services were held in Herdville Tuesday with burial in Herdville Cemetery. He is survived by wife, one son, three brothers and one sister.
