Osceola pool, built in 1921 from local donations, drew visitors from 13 states and 44 Nebraska towns in its first operating month. The city funded improvements with bonds and federal grant support, while WPA labor helped construct a sanitary bath house and park facilities. Revenue over 77 days totaled 1,359.28 dollars, yielding a gross profit of 746.29 dollars, and no drownings occurred in Polk County in 1936 thanks to guard coverage and Red Cross classes.

Horton McKeag Injured In Polk County Car Incident
Horton McKeag of York, formerly of this community, was seriously injured Monday night while returning home after a car demonstration in Polk. He was found in a ditch near York after midnight with three broken ribs and a punctured lung. His condition remained unconscious Tuesday afternoon, and the exact cause was not yet known. His brother Harley McKeag escaped injury when his car toppled into a ditch after hitting a deep rut further north near Victor School.
