The Rev. Joseph Blacha, 70, Lincoln Diocese priest, died in a January automobile crash in Czechoslovakia while en route home to the United States. He had served as pastor at Appleton Church near Bruno Nebraska and held multiple pastorates including Fairfield Deweese Shelby Hebron Curtis and missions near Osceola Plas ie and Appleton.

Osceola’s first and second teams each won two games last week. In Silver Creek, the Bulldogs triumphed 30 to 28 with Sigler leading scoring for Osceola. In the nightcap, Byers led the attack with four baskets as Osceola won 52 to 24. The teams then defeated Shelby 41 to 20, with Schutt scoring 20 points and Anderson adding 10. The second team also won both games.
