Company official Slocum explains a 14 percent wholesale gas price rise approved for Sept 27 1950 and a pending 15 percent request. If approved the firm will adjust retail gas charges from Dec 20 1950 with modest per customer increases shown by examples including 500 to 980 dollars per thousand cubic feet.
The Happy Birthday Club met Thursday December 14 at Mrs June Heckman's home with all members and one guest. They played games, awarded prizes, exchanged gifts, and children received presents. A covered dish luncheon followed at 4 15 pm. Next meeting set for January 11 at Mrs Morris Richards.

Cedric Fineey and family with Frank Frizzell and Floyd Frizzell households and Roy Frizzell of Silver Creek met at Bruce Pickett home near Osceola for Christmas. Mrs Joe Tomasiewicz remains confined to bed with a heart ailment.
A long list of Christmas visits, family dinners, and holiday travel fills Osceola society notes. Neighbors and relatives from Omaha, Lincoln, York, Columbus, Holdrege, and beyond share meals, reunions, and well wishes at homes of the Carlson, Jones, Ruder, Shaidan, and other local families.
Guests Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rodene and Bonnie were Mr. and Mrs. De Vera Rodene and family and Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Rodene and Sandra of Wakefield. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Stewart returned to their home in Lange Tuesday morning after spending the holidays with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mills.
