Glen Heckman son of Mr and Mrs Don Heckman will play as a back for Lincoln All-League in the Santa Claus Bowl in Orlando Florida December 28 and 29. His season on one of Lincoln Midget teams earned the berth. Brother Irwin earned Honorable Mention at a Lincoln banquet. The Heckmans lived in Osceola before moving to Lincoln four years ago.

Mildred Snodgrass was absent due to illness.

Rev W W Alverson Dies in Texas at 81
Rev W W Alverson, twice retired Presbyterian minister, died December 13 at his Whitewright Texas home after nine weeks illness. He was born 1873 in Coal City Alabama and served churches in Texas Nebraska Iowa Kansas Oklahoma later called from retirement in 1952 to Jefferson Texas. He leaves wife two daughters two sons nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral held December 14 at First Presbyterian Church Whitewright with Lions and Masons in attendance.

Radar car nets twelve speed violators Sunday evening
A radar unit demonstrated near Osceola shows speeds of vehicles from 58 to 66 mph. Twelve summons were issued for excess speed, including a large bus and a cattle-hauling semi-trailer at 60 mph. Troopers Willard Clark Neukirch and Norman Patterson staffed the operation.
