Osceola Teens Selected for Army Air Corps Reserve
Two 17 year olds from Osceola Thomas Oliver Mickey and Richard Eugene Smith earned enlistment in the Army Air Forces Reserve per the Omaha Cadet Examining Board. They are Osceola High School seniors and active in basketball and Boy Scouts. The pair will begin a $28 000 air crew training course lasting over a year with college study, leading to a commission and aviation wings after graduation.

Three Omaha youths aged about 19 are jailed in Osceola awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to stealing Roy Renander's car in Shelby last summer and driving to Denver where they stole another car which was wrecked. They were captured, sent to prison in Colorado, then released last week with Sheriff Peterson at the gates. Judge Landis will decide their sentence after the plea of guilt in district court.

The Polk County Extension Fun Feed was held Thursday night in Scott's Hall with 110 attending dinner and over 130 at the program. The Valley Church Ladies Aid served the dinner.
