Russell Carlson and son Gerald Carlson, once Stromsburg residents now in Yorba Linda and Lincoln, spent time with Walter Carlson’s family. Gerald was on furlough from the Lincoln air base.

The Herrmann brothers report Rev. Carl Herrmann missionary to India will furlough in January and return to America in late February or early March after serving 35 years. He and his wife, newly named Missionary Secretaries of the Delhi Area, faced recent hospital stays and a wife surgery. The conference starts January 5 with travel to Indiana and Ohio relatives before visiting here. Mr and Mrs J D Scott relocate from near Shelby to Osceola to live with sister Mrs I J Merrick.

Charles Oscar Walgreen born April 14 1859 in Smoland Sweden died December 26 1943 at his Osceola home aged 84 years 8 months and 12 days. He married Mary Donelson February 25 1885 and farmed near Osceola. Survivors include nine children 27 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral December 30 at St Paul Lutheran Osceola with Rev Everett Bexell. burial in family plot.
