Upper Big Blue groundwater control area declared
The State Department of Water Resources designated a major portion of the Upper Big Blue NRD as a groundwater control area effective December 9, 1977. Exclusions total less than five percent. The NRD must obtain permits for new wells, with automatic issuance for small domestic wells, and the NRD plans hearings and public meetings in late January to discuss management proposals.
