Louise Timm, Polk County Treasurer, announces a new Nebraska vehicle registration plan effective January 1 1976 that staggers renewals by month. Plates will show a month number sticker and registrations will expire the following year with tax based on a 12 or 13 month period depending on January or February origin.

Osceola opened the new gym with a 70 68 victory over Shelby as John Zelasney scored 23 and OSCEOLA outshot 62 percent to claim the lead in the second quarter. The Bulldogs followed with a 52 49 win over Stromsburg, Hayes and Zelasney leading scoring as Osceola held the advantage late and prepared for weekend games at Silver Creek and Friend.
Osceola hosted Aquinas and then faced Friend, suffering a 42 15 loss to Aquinas and a 51 18 defeat to Friend. Key results include Ray Johnson 5 2 over Eickmeier at 105 and Dale Runquist 3 1 over Proskovec at 119, with Lee Ray Augustine earning a 7 0 win at 126.
Mary Rempe of Osceola, current Polk County Clerk, is named Associate County Judge replacing Eldon Johnson who resigns effective year end. Johnson to continue with insurance business and income tax returns.
Paul Walgren was reelected to the Polk County ASC Committee by delegates from three ASC communities. He will begin a third three year term on January 1, 1976 and was chosen to continue as committee chairman with Richard Sealey Jr as vice chairman. F A Donelson remains the third member. W John Nyberg and Robert Peterson were elected as alternates. The election was attended by seven of nine delegates who later discussed farm programs with the delegates.
