Mother of Nine Dies in Highway Collision near Osceola
Mrs. Reece C. James, 42, of the John Richmond farm northeast of Osceola, died after a car collision on the highway east of town. Her husband Reece and nine children survive. Funeral services were held at Wesley Chapel with Rev. Pengelly. burial in Hoffer Cemetery. Osceola residents quickly raised 107.50 to aid the family. The accident involved a vehicle driven by Edward Edgar of Alexandria, South Dakota.

Death of Mrs. J Fjell Near Swede Home After Long Illness
After years of feebleness and a severe illness Mrs. J Fjell died at her son William Fjell’s home five miles northwest of Swede Home at 4 45 Saturday morning. Born March 14 1846 in Grenna Smaland Sweden she married Carl Fjell in 1871 in Paxton Illinois. The family included seven children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived in Polk County Nebraska since 1880 and belonged to the Swede Home Lutheran Church most of her life. Funeral services were held at the Swede Home Church with Rev Sward officiating alongside the funeral for Mrs Carolina Forss who died only hours earlier.
