Bootleggers Wreck Minister Car Near Hastings
Rev J M Herrmann pastor of Ong M E Church was in a wreck on the DLD six miles east of Hastings while returning from a game with Ong school friends. Two men fled with jugs of liquor after the crash. officers later linked the car to North Platte thefts. Sheriff Harr traced the suspects and recovered the stolen car with a man pending. Herrmanns car was badly damaged and hauled to Hastings for repairs.

Louis Lebs a 54 year old Omaha resident and well to do bachelor used an automatic pistol to kill himself at his residence Sunday morning. Despondent over long illness, Lebs had lived in Omaha nearly 30 years and his boyhood home was on a Shelby area farm. He leaves siblings Mrs Dan Kalenbaugh near Shelby Elizabeth Chadron Mrs Smith Rising City William Canada and Mike in the state hospital. Burial will be in Shelby where his father long lived and died.

Fatal Collision on Icy Aurora Street Claims Life
Clyde Williams was killed when a car driven by J. W. Detweiler of Grand Island collided with a vehicle carrying Co. A. Newman and others on an Aurora street. Newman was seriously injured and hospitalized. Detweiler's wife and Frank Oliver of Grand Island were bruised. Icy pavement was blamed for the crash.

The adult choir of eighteen voices directed by Mrs. Ruth Cornish presented The Wonder Child a Christmas Cantata at the Methodist Church on Sunday evening. Soloists included Mrs. W. E. They were married December 22 1880 in Assumption Illinois and moved to Nebraska in 1885 settling in Osceola where they have lived for years.

Eighty years after the California trail wagon train rested at Lone Tree in Nebraska Central City workers are digging up tall cedars to ship to Kansas City for landscaping.
