Mr and Mrs Butch Eschler and Maxine of near Rising City visited with Chas Tragart and family Wednesday evening. Ralph Hasselbalch and party attended a James McMeekin home party near Shelby Thursday evening. Charles Tragart and Stanley Lassek of Columbus joined Leo Lassek to Lincoln Tuesday where Stanley stayed at the Veterans Hospital for care. Large attendance from this vicinity went to Shelby Sunday for St Andrews church bazaar. Mrs Frank Andersen returned Sunday from Omaha after visiting her children and families.

Silver Creek doubles OSCEOLA in basketball rout

Silver Creek crushed Osceola 38 to 19 on Osceola court last Tuesday night. Osceola scored just three points in the first half as Silver Creek displayed a stiff, well played defense. Osceola Bulldogs host Rising City next Tuesday in a non conference tilt on December 21.

O. V. Hurst Succumbs at Des Moines Home

Relatives report the death of O. V. Hurst at his Des Moines residence 1319 39th St after a heart attack. He owned the First National Bank Barber Shop before selling it, had long suffered heart disease, and is survived by his wife two sons Lloyd Gretna Nebraska and Harry Des Moines and a daughter Lil lie on the west coast. Funeral services were held in Lincoln with interment there.

Charles Negley left Friday for Oakland California to spend several months with his daughter Mrs Wayne Inslee. Osceola business men announce two free Christmas events for children. The Muse Theatre hosts a 2 PM show on Saturday December 18, with Santa Claus giving treats the day before Christmas at the courthouse, also at 2 PM. Teachers and rural students are invited to attend both events.

Former Minister Now Serving at Broken Bow

Arthur Bintz returned to Broken Bow to be with his wife who was hospitalized after a car accident on November 18. Mrs. Bintz was released after 21 days and they returned home. The Monkman couple, longtime Osceola friends, served the Broken Bow church, meeting the Bintzes during their visit. Their eldest daughter Margaret is a surgical nurse in Chadron and Mrs. George Lewis. Eleanor, the younger daughter, is a Chadron High senior.
