George Craven was elected president of the Osceola Community Club at its annual meeting held Tuesday evening at the Legion Hall. Johan Anderson was chosen vice president, with Ed Mills and Oscar Anderson elected to the board for the ensuing term. A large group of local businesspeople attended despite the zero weather. A committee outlined an excellent program and talks by Mrs. A. Ff. Nuquist and Rev Celifer emphasized cooperation and community spirit. Afterward, supper was served to attendees.

Christmas Gift Drive At Ida Hanson’s Store
Needy families will receive help from clothing and other usable items donated through Ida Hanson’s store. The Business Women’s League organized the drive and will place items in Christmas baskets. The league held a party at Lillian Thorne’s home with Grace Stowe as hostess. Officers will be elected at Mabel Veach’s home on December 1. Remember the date.

Elmer Tschauner visited his brother Dr Tschauner of North Loup briefly. Mr and Mrs W J Werrmann were Stromsburg visitors Tuesday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Chas Johnson moved into the former Adolph Nelson house. Nelson will move to Omaha.

Former Polk County Citizen Dies
Vincent Zimmerman 93 a longtime Polk County resident died at the home of his daughter Mrs John Messing 1772 Twenty third avenue at 12 40 p m Sunsday after a stroke six weeks earlier. He was born May 21 1833 in Irndorf Austria married Carl ine Maver in 1855 nine children survive. Family came to America in 1877 settling near Silver Creek then moved to Columbus. Funeral at St Bonaventure church at 9 30 a m Wednesday with burial in Catholic cemetery bearers include six grandsons.
