City Sued for Nice Round Sum In Omaha Firm Suit
The City of Osceola was named defendant in a district court suit filed yesterday by Turk Somerv ille Co. of Omaha, agents for Employers Mutual Casualty Co. The claim seeks 927.18 plus costs for a compensation policy issued to the city. The plaintiff argues city liability for FERA workers on past year projects. The city says FERA workers were state payroll, paid from Lincoln and not on the city payroll.

Osceola Christmas Spirit Brightens Local Stores and Festivities
Osceola streets will be festooned with lights and Christmas trees as stores display holiday goods. The Osceola Community Club plans $25 cash prizes each Saturday starting this week, with Santa visiting on December 24 to hand out treats. Edward Bernard Zang, born June 1, 1877 in Henry County Illinois, died November 27, 1935 near Osceola Nebraska after a long illness. He leaves a wife Abigail Brown and three children, Paul, John, and Ruth, plus siblings. Funeral services were held November 30 at the First Methodist Church with interment in Osceola Cemetery.
