Consumers Public Power District Holds 1948 Customer Increase
The district reports 100,414 retail customers in 298 Nebraska communities in October 1948, up 21.7 percent since 1942. Wholesale service extends to 58 additional communities for a total of 356 served. Residential average annual kilowatt hours rose to 1465 with a 43.14 dollar annual cost and 2.94 cents per kWh, a 27.7 percent drop in cost per kWh since 1942, despite higher usage.

The front area is extended by about ten feet, the meat counter is moved back, and walk‑in cases rearranged to create more shopper space.
