Polk County Fair Breaks Records with Final Show Today
Polk County Fair closes with ideal weather and an outstanding program. Exhibits fill all spaces as Tuesday opened to the largest crowd in fair history. The grandstand and midway were crowded for the night show, with Sesvardt Goldsmith's musical revue drawing strong praise and free acts, horse races, and band music drawing favorable notices. A three cornered motorized hay sweep race by Don Graves wowed spectators, and Louie Schott recovered from a track mishap to finish the event.

An eight and a half pound baby girl was born Saturday at Osceola Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller. Mrs. Lloyd Zeleski and infant son Lloyd Vaughn left the hospital yesterday. Fred Schwab is improved after a recent operation. Mrs. Delmar McFadden is progressing well after major surgery. Miss Adelia Fredrickson leaves the hospital today after an appendicitis operation last week.
