Osceola Man Killed in Highway Accident

Goodwin Hornbloom a resident of Osceola died after a truck driven by Edward Lyons struck him while he was loading a wagon on the Gresham Highway. The crash occurred near the August Senn farm, with a coroner's inquest leading to Lyons being bound over on a charge of leaving the scene and failing to aid. Hornbloom, born December 15 1885, leaves a widow and siblings. funeral services were held and he was buried in Osceola Cemetery.

Collect ive agricultural exhibits win first prize at county fair

Six year old Hastings undergoes tonsil removal

Patsy Ruth Hastings daughter of Mr and Mrs Russell Hastings had her tonsils removed yesterday at Osceola Hospital by Thr R L Schroeder.

Polk County Fair Ends With Record Attendance and Strong Finances

The Polk County Fair closed last Thursday night after what is described as one of the best fairs. Receipts from all sources except county premiums totaled just under 3000 dollars. Expenses trimmed, the fair will pay all obligations with a likely tidy balance. Attendance was the largest in years, midway crowds were dense, the free acts and night show drew growing crowds, and officials commend cooperative support from neighboring towns.

Mr and Mrs Frank Leibee mark fifty years since their 1883 marriage with a Methodist Church program hosted by Olive McBeth. The couple hosted open house in Shelby Nebraska and a noon church supper for 55 relatives and friends. Six of eight children attended with seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs Delmar McFadden Returns Home After Hospital Stay
