A neighborhood carnival to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Association activities will be held Friday at the Don Andelt home 540 Mickey starting 2 p.m. Ringmaster Darrell Andelt and helpers David Kevin Theis Debbie Becky Theis Debbie Michael Anderson will run games and a bean count contest with a prize radio. Proceeds support research and patient services for muscular dystrophy and related diseases.
The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be set up in Shelby on Tuesday September 7 from 10 00 a m to 3 30 p m at the Legion Hall. Do nors are needed and walk ins are always welcome. If not contacted and you can give blood stop at the hall.
Osceola's 15-HS girls softball team earned third place in Polk at the Little 8 League Tournament. They beat Gresham 20-11 in round one, then lost 5-4 to Polk before defeating Osceola 12-7 for third. Vicki Kucera drove in seven RBIs and posted a .727 season average, while Brenda Peterson hit her fourth homer. Coach Sandy Wright praised allnine players for the winning season.
Mrs Truman Bachenberg is named local chairman of the 1976 Breath of Life Campaign to fund cystic fibrosis research and care in Nebraska. James R Demman DDS, president of the Nebraska State Chapter of the CF Foundation, will lead volunteers in September CF Month activities. Nebraskas leading clinic is at University Hospital Omaha.
