Nebraska Accepts Vaccinated Horses From VEE Areas

State official Kruse says VEE is contained in Southern Texas with no spread to other states. A high percentage of horses in Texas and neighboring states are immunized. Nebraska will admit horses that are not exposed or infected and vaccinated with VEE, with a health certificate. vaccinated horses from VEE states must be vaccinated at least 14 days before entry and show proof. Prior permits are only required from states with confirmed VEE. The 14 day wait minimizes risk of carrying the virus if exposure occurred around vaccination.
