Wesley Chapel Woman's Club met on Wednesday August 18 with 18 members and 7 visitors. Mrs Albert Senmaker led the meeting as they completed s1 series of lessons in Jesse work river by Mrs Geo Campbell of O coola. A class of 12 began with beginners. 18 plaques and boxes were finished. An appetizing lunch followed, then adjournment to meet September 9 with Mrs Mae McBeth.

Polk County Fair Season Tickets On Sale In Osceola
Season tickets for the Polk County Fair are available at two Osceola drug stores. Adults cost 1.50 dollars and children 75 cents. Aug P. Anderson serves as treasurer. The Yum Yum Club met last Saturday at Mrs. Joe Hanson’s home to judge canned fruit.

Charles Dunn Pioneer of Polk County Dies at Osceola
Charles Dunn a longtime Polk County farmer born in Belturbet Ireland in 1850 died August 23 1926 at his daughter s home in Osceola He helped settle and develop the county arriving in 1871 and living on the old homestead near Clear Creek He was married in Ireland to Lizzie Beatty and had five children He was active in the Church of England and a Freemason interred in Osceola Cemetery beside his wife.

Judge Ball Dies by His Own Hand in Court House
County Judge F. H. Ball shot himself in the mouth with a revolver in his private office at about 9 20 this morning. Dead at once, he left a pillow on the floor. no inquest will be held. Survived by widow, five sons and a daughter. he served as county judge for about twenty years. The Record notes funeral arrangements are being made. The city reflects on the tragedy as neighbors recall his service.
