Harvest Queen Crowned At Osceola Wheat Train Event
Miss Cornelia Benson daughter of Mr and Mrs W J Benson was chosen harvest queen when her name was drawn by the local committee chairman. Notable pageant on the Wheat Harvest Special drew nearly 1000 people as the queen was crowned on the train with a special throne. Prize wheat from E A Hedlund and Kanred wheat from George J Berck topped the show with cash, fence posts, and various goods awarded to multiple exhibitors.

Ida Louise Fennell born May 2 1876 in Spencer Iowa died August 19 1928 in Norfolk Nebraska aged 52 years 3 months 17 days She moved to Pender Nebraska in 1886 and married Alonzo Birchfield December 18 1899 They had son Alonzo Jr Surviving relatives include husband son and three brothers Marshall Fennell Norman Fennell and Frank Fennell Funeral services were held in Pender Methodist Church and burial followed at Osceola Cemetery.
